I first visited Portugal following my graduation in 1970 but did not return until my daughter, Sandra, spent her University overseas year in Lisbon in 2007/8. As she asked me to "drop her off" this gave me the ideal excuse to return several times and enjoy some of the more scenic parts of the country away from the Algarve.
